I am a Starbucks addict living in the northern suburbs of Chicago. I am a freelance web designer as well as an internet consultant who can be hired on an hourly basis.
I used to live in the Bay Area – grew up there – and it’s always been boom and bust. I don’t think the Bay Area’s economy will ever be particularly robust again because it doesn’t have much of a corporate base anymore. It’s just call centers, warehouses and hospitality. Also, Pinellas County’s infrastructure is aging and a lot of neighborhoods are decaying along with commercial properties. It’s sad. It was a nice place to grow up decades ago but not anymore.
K- Winter.Last of the 4 seasons. Marxists are well aware of it.
You’re absolutely right.

Surprisingly, you can even see this happening in very wealthy communities. Certainly, not to the extent of Peter or Detroit, but you still see many empty businesses with For Lease signs. It’s nationwide.
Yes you lucked out. ;o)
Have a safe trip in Russia.
Take care,
John
I thought this was the St Petersburg (Russia) I’m about to visit. Thanks goodness it’s not.
This is only the beginning!
Johnu78- It just seems to get worse and worse,I was reading only yesterday about the retail property collapse hitting in 2010
I’m glad you like them. Thank you for watching.
-John
I really dig the man-on-the-street vids. thanks!
My friend told me what was on it, but I haven’t seen one on the road yet. Are there any in Pinellas county?
@johnu78 >Bush Billboard Slams Obama – ‘Miss Me Yet’?
I haven’t seen it yet, a few people have told me about it. Do you know where one of them is?
-John
did you guy see Bush Billboard yet!.hahahaha.thanks for the video
I’m planning on it, I been trying to get people to get out. It’s getting really old around here. My cousin just bought a nice plot of land in western PA my biggest problem is employment and funds but I’ll manage. I just don’t know what’s a good area outside of Philly that’s affordable. Thanks I’ll watch that video
My father is from Philadelphia and I have a lot of family that live in the suburbs there. I know the Navy yard you’re talking about, I had been by there a few times when I was a kid.
You should move out of the city as soon as you can.
Be sure to watch my book review video and buy the book in it. It’s called, “How to survive the end of the world as we know it”.
Take care,
John
You can get a membership to some of the travel parks and move state to state in one and hook up to electricity and water.
Naaa NE, Philadelphia they have been building on every vacant lot for the last 10 years. The old navy yard, underneath I-95, Old factories torn down. I still see no young kids around my area anymore so many locals moved out. I’m starting to get a lonely feeling because I don’t recognize faces anymore and when I go food shopping there’s loads of sub-human non-whites. Like I said after the plague hit.
Do you live in the St. Pete area?
I think the government is making a illusion that we need more people from the third world. Kinda like after the plague how everyone started to freak out because they saw ghost towns. I don’t see kids playing at my playgrounds anymore and they just built a few hundred new homes in my area
I know the Wal-Marts in Florida let you camp out in their parking lots for a maximum of 3 days.
@johnu78
Ive looked at retail sales from 2006 to 2009 and basically we are down about 9.5 percent from the peak (I forgot where the peak was). But when you factor in inflation (because retail sales aren’t adjusted for it) I think when I calculated it was like 13 percent.
13 + 4.5 percent U3 unemployed gives 17.5 unemployment. Then subtract the ones who get “discouraged” and now down to 15. Many retail jobs go to partime, so adjust U3 to 12. Thats the U3 # we will get in the near term IMO
There’s only two malls that I go to occasionally. Those are Gulfview Square mall in Port Richey and Countryside Mall in Clearwater.
I stopped at both malls during the Christmas shopping season and I was surprised to see so many people walking through the mall not carrying any bags. Not too mention the traffic was very low at both malls for the Christmas season.
Im in california. YOu can’t sleep in a motorhome? Where are you legally allowed to sleep in a motorhome or trailer?
@johnu78
I haven’t been to our local mall in years. Have you been to a lot of the big regional malls and if so are there a lot of vacancies in them and low traffic?
